About program

As a graduate of Media and journalism, you will be prepared for work as a journalist, reporter or editor; for using network communication tools; gathering, editing and selection of news; creating radio reports and TV documentaries; montage; as well as for leading political and advertising campaigns! We offer full-time and part time studies.

We will prepare you for work in:

Public relations and Media Marketing

The Journalism and Social Communication course educates not only future journalists but also specialists the fields of public relations, on-line journalism, marketing, advertising or visual communication. WSPA is the only institution in the region that runs the Public Relations specialization in English. Students of this specialization have the opportunity to get to know how social communication looks like in practice. Our teachers are the best journalists-practitioners and lecturers with a vast experience. The classes are focused on the implementation of practical solutions developed during project tasks. After graduation students are not only able to move freely in the media world, typeset newspapers, edit films and radio programs, write professional blogs, but also have a chance to become an expert in public relations and image promotion fields.

Modern Tools of Audiovisual Communication

MoJo (mobile journalism) is journalism using the latest technologies based on the capabilities of smartphones. A smartphone becomes a camera, sound mixer, eiditing device, or even a broadcasting and most importantly – it fits the pocket of the journalist who can perform their profession more efficiently, faster and fully independently.

Psychology of Massmedia

Today’s world is full of information delivered by the mass media. They shape our taste and images, promote ideas, influence our opinions, knowledge, beliefs and may manipulate. The following specialization recognises media competences as an important part of the modern society. Psychology of Massmedia is an interdisciplinary specialization combining two disciplines: Journalism and Psychology. This is an interdisciplinary specialty that educates in the field of psychological aspects of media activities. As part of the specialization, the students receive knowledge of the functioning of contemporary media and media law in various countries around the world. He will learn how to use various techniques of persuasion and principles of social communication. The specialization will contribute to better development of students’ own abilities in the field of “media production” (television, radio, press, internet). In turn knowledge of the mechanisms of dependence between psychology and media will enable graduates to effectively control the influence of mass media on recipients, create audience tastes, realize the conscious control of this impact on the image of different film and institutions, sense manipulation of the social opinion, fashion and dissemination of ideas. The authors of the specialization believe that media competences are important components of the modern society. And, what is more the mechanisms of relationships between psychology and media are unknown to most people. Psychology in mass media is a combination of two scientific disciplines: Journalism and Psychology. This interdisciplinary specialty educates in the field of psychological aspects of media activities. As part of the specialization, the student receivea knowledge of the functioning of media and laws in different countries around the world. Students learn how to use various techniques of persuasion and principles of social communication. The specialization develops students competences in the field of “media production” (television, radio, press, the Internet). The knowledge of the mechanisms of dependence between psychology and media enables graduates to effectively control the influence of mass media on recipients, understand the processes of creating audience tastes and, thus, realize the conscious control of this impact on the image of different companies and institutions.
