Dr. Nada Trunk Širca holds a PhD in Social Sciences from Manchester Metropolitan University in the UK. She is currently a researcher and professor at ISSBS in Celje, as well as at the University of Primorska. Additionally, she actively collaborates with EMUNI University in Slovenia. Her areas of expertise focus primarily on educational management, particularly in higher education, covering topics such as management, quality assurance, recognition of formal and informal learning, lifelong learning, and the internationalization and modernization of higher education systems within and outside the EHEA. She is also specialized in social science research methodology, especially qualitative methods.
Dr. Trunk Širca has extensive experience coordinating international projects and has a wide network of international connections. She serves as a reviewer for EU-funded research projects for the European Commission. In addition to her research skills, she excels in organizational management, having chaired the international scientific conference MakeLearn for many years. Her research has been published in numerous prestigious, high-impact scientific journals. She is also a member of editorial boards for several international scientific journals and is the editor-in-chief of the international journal Human Systems Management and the ToKnowPress publishing house.
