The cost of taking the TELC Polish language exam at WSPA is PLN 690.

Candidates who pass the TELC exam and submit a complete set of recruitment documents for studies at WSPA by 31 August will receive a 5% discount on the first semester of studies.

telc Polish language exam (dual B1–B2)

The European Language Certificates (TELC) is an internationally recognized examination system developed in line with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) of the Council of Europe.

The telc Polish exam at the B1–B2 dual level is intended for both foreign nationals and Polish citizens living permanently abroad who wish to obtain an official certification of their Polish language proficiency.

In accordance with the Regulation of the Minister of the Interior and Administration dated May 31, 2023, the telc certificate serves as an official proof of Polish language competence, required, among other things, when applying for EU long-term resident status

Exam Structure

The exam consists of two parts:

Written part (approx. 115 minutes)

It includes:

  • listening comprehension
  • reading comprehension
  • language elements
  • writing (letter/email)

Oral part

  • usually conducted in pairs
  • may take place on the same day or up to 7 days after the written exam
  • administered by licensed telc examiners

The exam is designed to assess the practical use of the Polish language in everyday and professional communication situations.

Before the Exam

On the day of the exam, candidates are required to:

  • arrive at least 15 minutes before the start of the exam,
  • bring a valid ID document with photo,
  • bring a pencil (F or HB), an eraser, and a pencil sharpener.

Candidates who arrive late will not be admitted to the exam.

Exam Rules and Regulations

The following items are not permitted in the examination room:

  • mobile phones
  • smartwatches
  • any electronic devices
  • dictionaries
  • notes or any other supporting materials

All electronic devices must be switched off and left in the place designated by the examination committee.

The examination committee reserves the right to invalidate the exam, without refund of the exam fee, in cases of:

  • non-independent work,
  • use of unauthorized materials,
  • communication with other candidates,
  • disruption of the exam process.

Registration and Fee

The conditions for taking the exam are:

  • correctly completing the application form,
  • paying the exam fee,
  • accepting the exam regulations.

Exam fee:

  • is non-transferable to another person,
  • is generally non-refundable,
  • covers the organization of the exam and the issuance of a certificate or statement of results.

The organizer reserves the right to cancel the exam due to an insufficient number of candidates or unforeseen circumstances.

Important Information about the Dual-Level B1–B2 Exam

The telc Polish language exam has a dual-level format, meaning that the final result may certify either B1 or B2 proficiency, depending on the number of points achieved.

Due to the dual structure of the exam:

  • it is not possible to take only one selected part of the exam,
  • candidates must take the full exam, including both the written and oral sections.

Candidates who pass the exam receive a telc certificate at either B1 or B2 level.

Candidates who do not achieve the required score receive a statement of results.

The waiting time for results and the certificate is usually around 6–8 weeks from the exam date.
